Нурмуханов Бакыт Маратович

Bakyt Nurmukhanov

He was born on 13 May 1979 in East Kazakhstan region, Kurchum district, Kalzhir village. 
He graduated from the Law faculty of the East Kazakhstan State University.
He began his work as a teacher of the Department of criminal law and criminal procedure of the faculty of law of East Kazakhstan State University.
Since 2003 works in the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan: consultant of legal department; chief expert of department of legal support; the chief expert, the chief consultant, head of sector of analytical work of department of legal expertise (2003-2006); adviser to the Chairman (2006-2011); head of department of legal expertise (2011-2017). 
On August 1, 2017 he was appointed to the position of the Secretary General of the Constitutional Council.  
Since 2008 combines functions of the liaison officer of the European Commission for Democracy through Law of the Council of Europe (the Venice Commission). 
Since 2017 Deputy Secretary General of the Secretariat for Research and Development of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions (AACC). 
He is candidate of law science.  
Have state and other awards of the Republic of Kazakhstan: «Eren Enbegy ushin (For Labor Prowess)» medal, Anniversary medals «10 years to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan», «20 years to the Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan», «20 years to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan», «25 years to the Prosecutor service of the Republic of Kazakhstan», breastplate «Excellent state employee».
