On September 15-17, 2021, Member of the Constitutional Council Victor Malinovskiy participated online in the Second Judicial Conference of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts/Councils of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on the theme of “Human Rights and Constitutionalism: The Contribution of the Judiciary in Muslim Countries.”
The event was organized by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia.
The conference was held in two sessions, dedicated to the role of the judiciary in promoting humanity and democracy, as well as protection social, economic and cultural rights in a pluralistic society.
Within the framework of the conference, Victor Malinovskiy made a report on the topic: “The Republic of Kazakhstan: Constitutional Review and the Judiciary in Ensuring the Highest Values of a Person, His Life, Rights and Freedoms." The member of the Constitutional Council informed the conference participants about the history of the formation and development of constitutional review in Kazakhstan, as well as about the judicial reform being carried out in the country and measures taken to further protect the constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens.
The event was attended by representatives of the constitutional justice bodies of Azerbaijan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Cameroon, Malaysia, Pakistan, Russia, Thailand, Turkey, Uzbekistan and other members of the OIC.
